How does it work?

Your Invisalign® treatment consists of nearly invisible, removable aligners that you change every two weeks for the next set. Each aligner is individually manufactured for your teeth.

Once we receive your aligners, wear your first one for about two weeks, removing it easily for eating, brushing, and flossing. Over time, as you replace each aligner approximately every two weeks with the next, your teeth will gradually move into the final alignment we prescribed.

During your treatment, you can usually eat whatever you desire because you remove your aligners to eat and drink. This is another advantage over traditional orthodontic (teeth-straightening) methods, which can involve many food restrictions.

Crowded teeth is a condition where you do not have enough room for your teeth to fit normally. This can cause plaque or tartar and other harmful bacteria to build up as it is harder for you to brush and floss well.

Gaps between teeth

Gaps between teeth is when there is extra space between two or more of your teeth. This can cause pockets between your teeth and gums and can cause food to get stuck making them tender and sore. This might also lead to gum disease.

Open bite

An Open bite is when your upper and lower teeth don't touch when you close your mouth. An open bite can make it hard for you to chew or difficult to bite even the most common of food like apples.

Underbite

An underbite is when you close your mouth and your lower front teeth are in front of your upper teeth. In many cases, this is actually a problem with your lower jaw being too far forward. An underbite can make it hard to chew properly and speak clearly, and it might cause your teeth to wear down more quickly.

Overbite

An overbite is when your upper front teeth overlap with your lower front teeth. Most people have at least a little overbite. When your overbite is too large, your doctor might tell you you have a deep bite. This can cause problems, from your teeth wearing down to pain in your jaw.

Crossbite

A crossbite is when you close your mouth and yet some of your upper teeth are sitting inside your lower teeth rather than on the outside. A crossbite can make your teeth wear down or chip. It can also make your gums start to recede or make little notches above your gum line. This kind of damage can lead to painful gum problems or even bone loss.

I went on a trip and forgot to take my aligners with me. Will my aligners still fit?

The answer depends on how long you’ve gone without wearing your Invisalign_® aligners. If it’s only been a short time, your aligners should still fit, but they might feel uncomfortable. If it’s been a long time, talk to your Invisalign_® Doctor about your unique situation.

What’s the best way to clean my aligners?

The best way to clean your aligners is by brushing and rinsing them in lukewarm water and using Invisalign_® Cleaning Crystals or special cleaning tablets. To maintain good oral hygiene, it’s important to brush your teeth after each meal before re-inserting your aligners.

If I have food residue, such as blueberries or pasta sauce, in my mouth when I put my aligners back in, can they become stained?

Yes. That’s why brushing after every meal is essential before placing your Invisalign_® aligners back in your mouth.

What if I lose or break an aligner? What should I do?

Immediately let your dentist know if you lose or break an Invisalign_® aligner. Your dentist will work with you to ensure you stay on track with your treatment plan, which may involve wearing a previous set of aligners, your next set of aligners, or ordering replacement aligners.

Can I order replacement aligners from the Invisalign_® brand directly?

All aligners and retainers must be ordered through your Invisalign_® dentist, as they are considered prescription items. Please contact your dentist directly if you need to order a replacement.

10. What happens when I'm done with Invisalign_® treatment?

Will I need to wear a retainer after treatment to prevent my teeth from moving again?

Most Invisalign_® dentists recommend that anyone who has completed orthodontic treatment, whether with braces or Invisalign_® treatment, use a retainer to prevent teeth from gradually shifting back toward their initial position. Every case is different, so ask your Invisalign_® dentist if you need retainers.

What type of retainer should I use?

While there are many different types of retainers, we recommend Vivera retainers. Your Vivera retainers will be virtually invisible and custom-made from an impression or scan of your teeth, using the same start-of-the-art technology used for Invisalign_® clear aligners.

How do I order Vivera retainers?

How long will I have to wear my Vivera retainers?

I have attended Bridge Street Dental over the course of 6 months to have a dental implant, teeth whitening and airflow hygienist treatment.Moss was highly recommended from a friend who works in the dental industry as my dental practice do not offer dental implant.From first enquiry I cannot fault the service I have received, every aspect of the practice has been exceptional.First appointment with Sonya (chief dental nurse) was very understanding, and no judgement as to the reasons why I required a dental implant.I cannot recommend Moss and Sonya enough. Both are incredibly professional and caring, and nothing is too much trouble. As a very nervous patient I was very apprehensive. However, throughout the procedure itself I was very comfortable and I felt reassured.The technology and services available are far superior to any dental practice I have been to before. Everything is centred around patient comfort and experience.Sonya was on call and available out of hours after the procedure, which was on a Bank Holiday weekend. She was very prompt in replying to my concerns regarding post op swelling, and had made an appointment for first thing on the Tuesday to put my mind at ease.Laura (another senior dental nurse) called me often to check on the healing progress post operatively as well as during the teeth whitening to check all was well which was very kind and much appreciated. I felt throughly cared for.Lexie reception has been very accommodating in being able to offer late afternoon and early evening appointments to fit around childcare easily.We live an hour away from the practice, and have been so pleased with the care which I have received that we are now in the process of moving all our dentistry care for not just myself but my husband and 2 small children.We have been registered at our previous dentist for 10years, however the experience, care and practice itself at Bridge Street Dental is far superior its been a very easy decision.

Amazing practice & great, professional service! All of the staff are welcoming & friendly. Reception staff are always polite & cheerful, can easily get through to them on the phone too. I get my hygiene appointments done with Sara & she's the first dental staff to make me feel really comfortable and relaxed during procedures. I recently attended Bridge Dental for a review on an upper molar that Nik had re-root treated for me a few months ago. After a disappointing start when given the wrong directions for the car park and left waiting for 45 minutes the initial consultation went extremely well and I am looking forward to receiving some implants treatment.I have my new implants now and I must say this dentist practice is positively exceptional!From the beginning to the end I cannot find one fault and I am so very very pleased with my new implants ! A year ago Moss and Sonia took me through the implant of a top front tooth. My regular dentist had tried very hard over a two year period to save what was left of my old tooth but we finally had to admit defeat. My regular dentist recommended Bridge Clinic and an implant. I needed a crown tightening on an insert urgently that I had done abroad and didn’t hesitate in calling Bridge Dental for a quote, I was happy with the the price and service, Dr Moss is an excellent dentist who works at the highest standards you could wish for and I was very happy with the whole experience.Not forgetting his team who also work to the same standards as Dr Moss.Thank you all.

From the initial welcome 🤗 to the end of the visit it's lovely.All staff are friendly and welcoming, the reception and rooms are lovely and clean.My dentist Katie is absolutely wonderful. She is very kind and listens, and gives the best advice possible for treatment. Also my hygienist Sara is lovely and goes that extra little bit that counts.I couldn't recommend this practice enough. I have always been nervous of going to the dentist and have had some terrible work done over the years with no thought to how my teeth would be over time. I called Bridge and arranged an appointment with Jag and it was the best decision I made. I feel confident to smile and my teeth have been transformed. Still some work to be done but I trust Jag and even injections do not hurt. I tell him he is good and knows what he is doing which he smiles and says “I hope so” but he truly does. A special shout out to Hannah, Charlotte and all the reception team who are so personable and make the whole experience a joy (kind of) and not a dread of visiting a dentist! Thank you so much 💚

Friendly, relaxed atmosphere throughout the practice. Visiting Dr Katie Shooter for the first time was an absolute pleasure, her knowledge and professionalism was first class, with full explanations of everything being considered, with great use of visuals to support the conversation.
